The Shahneshin Foundation – nonprofit organisation – based in Zurich is an international independent centre for design, education, research, and promoting the future-thinking through educational and promotional events: awards, campaigns, competitions, exhibitions, lectures, researches, seminars, symposiums and workshops, along with permanent annual worldwide award under shrinkage umbrella.
The Shahneshin Foundation as an international organisation is attempted to bring together academics, practitioners, theoreticians, and students in a diverse array of disciplines including art and design community in dialogue-form forum that intend above all to alert of current invisible and future problems as well as the social activism and design, responsible practice of thought and decision, and citizenship.
Desire
In the context of six-thousands-years of misbehaviour and erroneous-thinking of greediness and self-indulgence, the Shahneshin Foundation wishes to play the role of an acting vehicle to switch the tragic nature of the world into the possiblitism © to
hope for a richer, healthier world for humans and all living creatures.
It is a step forward to avoid a tragic catastrophe that human history will otherwise witness in the near future.
The desire of the Shahneshin Foundation is to support and enhance the culture of the future by providing uninterrupted time for work, reflection, and collegial interaction, committing itself to the development of new future-thought culture.
At its core, Shahneshin Foundation is a societal network, made up of individuals from diverse backgrounds with a wide range of expert knowledge.
The Shahneshin Foundation through diverse events would provide responses to a growing, varied and multiple numbers of questions relating to decision and design, such as designing to have a child, designing a house, designing for the future of and entire city or region or the whole world. These issues are most often framed as a crisis or threat. However, the goal of the Shahneshin Foundation is to raise public awareness to the point where it will support an effective public response to the threats.
While the policy-makers, strategic-planners, theoreticians, and many other activists in favour of future have gained a well-deserved reputation for successfully opposing certain policies or initiatives that it is against, it is less clear what the community [both local and global] is for. Without a vision, without a sense of where we want to go [what kind of future we want], it will be very difficult to get there. The purpose of the Shahneshin Foundation is to stimulate a mental gymnasium provide [at least, helping community to build the foundation of this culture] having a vision of what a sustainable future will look like, a roadmap of how to get from here to there, and an ongoing assessment of this effort, of where progress is being made and where it is not.
Seeding
As a small organisation with a global mission, we are devoted to design a unique information dissemination model, capitalising on the synergy between a worldwide network of folks within schools and outside, and the communications media inspiring them to take action. Through this network, countless individuals and organisations become aware of the unseen and invisible issues facing the world.
